I played Arcade Tycoon a couple of years ago and it was a solid game, then the developers made changes to the game to make it version 2.0.
The menu is cool because you can see your saved game data and find out how many of the game objectives you’ve achieved.

There are four campaigns in ‘Arcade Tycoon’, the first one shows you the ropes which is important for later on.

The Tutorial is kind on you, you don’t have to pay any rent and as said earlier, you learn the ropes in this game, there are objectives you can achieve, and you need to complete the bronze objective to get to the next level.

Power is important, you don’t have unlimited power, you get 1000 watts and anything more you need to pay for it so don’t go overboard with your spending.

It is ok to fall into a little debt in Abodo Street etc. because if you can hang on long enough, you will get some lucky breaks like a $5000 windfall or a rush of kids playing your machines.

One way to earn money is by going into objectives and pick up contracts, some of these are pick up litter manually tasks, to do that press alt and select the option, picking up litter yourself saves you money as well.

Upgrades are done by earning stars, most of what you have in the arcade generates stars like your arcade machines when being played by a customer, updates to those machines increases the amount of stars.

By right clicking on workers, customers, machines etc. you get stats, this is from one of the arcade machines, you can turn machines on or off, send in get them maintained, sell or move the machine and upgrade the machine which costs money and not stars.
As you got one your arcade gets bigger in size so don’t worry about forever having an arcade the size of a stamp, buying new machines can occur by using stars to get them.
There are dangers in this game, you can lose power in a storm forcing you to manually restart machines until you research the option to prevent that from happening, there are thieves, machine breakdowns, angry gamers even aliens to contend with.
This is definitely my kind of game though the aliens bit was not really needed in the game, it runs well, the hours can go right by when you get really stuck into it and that’s what you want in a game.
Rating: 4.5 out of 5.
