Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30

Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 is the first game in the Brothers in Arms series of games that were on everything from PC to iOS.

You find yourself as Matt Baker, a reluctant leader of men who parachuted into France and you fight your way to Hill 30 over a series of missions.

There’s a nice variety of missions from taking over a farmhouse to clearing paths for the gliders to defending a church building to destroying tanks and finally fighting your way through the Germans to get to reinforcements to save your men.

Perhaps the biggest issue of the game was that the squad was having trouble finding the right places to go, for example you order your squad to go behind a log or rocks for cover and they would go stand in front of them exposing themselves to fire.

The death of your comrades does not seem to matter in this game, it does later on in the Brothers in Arms series but if you lose them in a mission, they’ll be back in the next one unless they were killed in the scenes.

This is a classic 2000’s war game and thankfully it works on Windows 11 so the good times can continue to be had.
