Making History: The Calm and the Storm Gold Edition is a classic war game in which you can play out a scenario as any country in the world.

There are seven scenarios that take place from when the Nazis taken power in Germany until 1946 plus there are another three scenarios to choose from that features alternate history.

While the seven scenarios are based on what happened in the world at the time, results do not play out the same for example you can play a scenario and the British do not lose Malaya and Singapore and the United States does not lose the entire Philippines like they had done in 1942.

I chose to play as Australia in a scenario and I waited for the United States to take on Japan and my small army managed to take a chunk of Japan and even liberate Cambodia.

Another scenario as the United States had my Navy at 12,000 strength and my aircraft carriers picked off the German Army all along Europe allowing the British to invade and liberate France before my tank army swept in from the USA to take Berlin in a matter of turns.

Your cities can produce Goods, Arms, Food, Research, Industry and Armed Forces, it is all a balancing act.

The better your cities are, the faster you can produce items, Food, Goods and Arms are important for your armies as a lack of them can impact their strength.

This is an absolute classic of a game and you can easily lose a couple of hours playing it.
