New Star GP is a racing game that takes place in different decades of Grand Prix racing (Formula One).

Each era has a ten-race season, progression is done by winning the season otherwise you spend another season in the era until you get that title.
You can choose some car benefits for example extra boost or automated pit stops, lessen the chances of spinning out upon contact etc, you gain more choices from winning cups in each race, but you can’t have them all, only a couple.
Your car can be upgraded, these cost you points, make sure you keep about 300 points aside because you can have a mechanical issue that requires payment, not paying can compromise the health of your car.

You can set a pit strategy, there are soft and hard tyres as well as wets, keep an eye on the weather forecast on the bottom of the screen to know what weather is expected and when.

Extra boost can be achieved by getting the perfect start, if your revs are too high when it is time to go, you’ll have a bad start.
Watch out for brake wear as your brakes will fade in races particularly from the 90s era, depending on your pit timing, you can refresh your brakes if they get too worn but if you are too early in the pits, you’ll have to drive defensively in the last few laps.

There’s a multiple-choice factor in the game, you can choose which crew member you want to spend time with or accept a perk from, your choices change their moods, you can have choices regarding rival drivers to make them happier or angrier at you.
There is a nice variety of tracks, some will be familiar to Formula One fans but with a couple of differences like cities and design.
The graphics are cool, it takes me back to the days of Grand Prix from 1991 which is still cool today especially when you get to drive Adelaide.
I love the game, but I wish there were more than ten drivers and more competitive cars as there are some really slow cars out on the track that makes it less of a challenge.
Rating: 4.25 out of 5.
