Assetto Corsa (PC Game)

I love racing games, I am not the greatest at them, but I love having a go and Assetto Corsa gives me everything that I want out of a racing game particularly when using the keyboard as I don’t have the energy for a simulator.

The game has plenty of options, there is a career mode, you can do challenges such as hot lap, time attack and drifting and you can do a one-off race either a quick race or the whole weekend.

There is a nice array of tracks available to use, though be prepared to pay to expand your collection through DLC purchases.

Some of the greatest cars on the planet can be selected, though DLC’s are another requirement if you want another batch of Ferrari or Ford models etc.

There is also online mode too for those who like to test their skills against fellow gamers (not me).

S5000 at Warrick Farm

The range of mods that you can find online for the game is very impressive, I could download a bunch of Ford Falcon models and have an EB to EF Falcon race on a track like Amaroo Park, a track that is now long gone.

Ford cars at Calder Park Thunderdome? Yes please.

Some people post their mods for free; some like to be paid on Patreon for their work, some creators have tiers where people can only access certain cars and tracks based on payment level.

???????????????

I loved racing the S5000 open wheelers at places like Amaroo Park and Warrick Farm, I even tried out the Holden Commodore at Daytona to make my own version of AUSCAR Racing although it was the Australian Touring Car Championship.

Some people like me may get a little lost when you see things like car setup, but a basic understanding can come from looking around to see what things mean and experiment, either you’ll get a fast responsive car or a high-speed brick.

I think the graphics are nice and if you have a good enough imagination, you’ll think that you’re there at track having a go.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.
