The Sims (Legacy Collection), what a revelation it was when it was released on February 4, 2000, it was like Big Brother, but you were in control of the characters.
At first, I was a little unhappy with this game because it killed off SimMars, a game that I was very much looking forward to at the time, but when I brought The Sims, I couldn’t get enough of it.
The Sims naturally led to The Sims 2, The Sims 3 and The Sims 4 but a lot of gamers just wanted to play The Sims, unfortunately as computers evolved, The Sims couldn’t keep up, and it was unusable on the latest computers.
That was until The Sims Legacy Collection was released.

The Sims Legacy Collection has the games plus some expansions, EA sure made a lot of money through all those expansions, it was expansion after expansion, now you get them online but back then you brought a disc and a big disc cover for each one.

It is The Sims that we know and love, for those who haven’t used it before you get offered the choice of home around a community and run that family or you can create your own family.
The Sims Legacy Collection has additional communities that the original did not offer so you do have a choice.

You can build a house, furnish the house, you got to keep your Sims happy by making sure that they interact with others, that they eat food, that they shower, that they use the toilet etc.
Your characters can die; they can die in accidents like a house fire, a Sim can try extinguishing the fire on your command, but they can end up being barbequed, it is best to call the fire department and get them to handle it.

You can find your Sims a job and then make sure they get their pickup to go to work; it is important that you keep your Sims happy or they’ll be demoted from their work.
You can invite Sims over, or you can just talk to them on the phone, this keeps your social levels up.
You can gain friends and lose them; you can with your Sims end up marrying somebody and then losing them if you let the interaction between the Sims fall beyond what means to be a friend.
This game is a massive time waster, you can play it for hours on end and then play it over many years, some have for the last 26 years, it is highly addictive.
Rating: 5 out of 5.
