Agefield High – Rock the School was a very highly anticipated game before its August 2026 release.

Gamers were hoping for the modern-day version of ‘Bully’, but people should have known that a small team was not going to pull off what Rockstar could do with a game.

The game does have that ‘Bully’ feel but there are differences of course from having friends to living at home, the goal of who to take to prom etc.

You play as Sam in the year 2002, he is a student who has just moved to Agefield,

Sam immediately meets two fellow teens (Kale and Axel) who become his close friends and mayhem begins from the moment they meet as Sam is put to the test.

You can go to school and do classes, English, math, geography and music, there are two classes every school day, you don’t have to go but stay away from the school if you’re not going.

The music section is like guitar hero, and you get graded in all classes, the better the grade, the more money you receive.

The school and the town are well populated though you may get tired of hearing the same words from them and the general public as you walk past them, they really do need to record more dialogue for them.

No teenage driven game is complete without your player having to woo a girl, in this game, you’ve got two choices and the two completely different to the other.

You have the main storyline and mini missions to complete; these missions usually award you items and money though money doesn’t serve much of a purpose.

Some missions offer you multiple choice like when you’re on the phone to somebody or having an important conversation, the wrong option will end the mission, and you have to start that mission again.

A minor issue though important was that bike riding could be a pain in the butt, you got to keep adjusting the camera as you ride, a fixed camera with the ability to look left and right would have served a better purpose.

There were four big issues with the game, the first is that the game was prone to getting a ‘fatal error’ which crashed the game, the game felt better in the second half as I cannot recall a late crash.

The second was that the game really pushed my NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (6 GB) graphics card to the limit with 99% usage though it was very kind to my CPU.

The third issue was the frame rate, it would go up and down like a yo-yo, cutscenes would have framerates drop to as low as 9, this especially ruined the end of the game as cutscenes slowed to a crawl.

The fourth issue was that fighting was terrible, using a baseball bat was like waving a sword around, it was hard to attack especially when taking on three people, focus did not help in that case and swinging was potluck.

It was found that you go in close, punch the enemy once and retreat, you’ll be fine, if you hung around, you got pummelled to lose the mission.

I found the story to be enjoyable despite all the technical limitations, there was a lot that reminded me of those early late 90s, early 00s movies like American Pie and Loser though some may feel that the team played it safe with its level of risqué.

You really play like a teen that you see in the above-mentioned films but with more graffiti artist and thief than a pervert though there are those scenes in there.

I finished the game in 12 hours, about an hour could be deducted for the crashes that set me back to the start of a mission.

I could return to the game and find all of the 84 collectables to truly finish the game, that should take some time.

This game needed more development time; it is likely that the developers got spooked by impatient wish listers wanting to have this game in their collection or the game testers weren’t honest in their playthroughs.

By the time this game arrives on consoles, there is the chance that the problems that plagued the game will be eliminated and gamers will have a solid game on their hands.
