The World Rally Championship games are ones that seem to rapidly drop in value, I got WRC 8 on sale for $4.50 on Steam and it was a good deal.

The game has a training mode that will help the computer decide what assists you need to have a good game, the game decided I needed a lot of help having flipped a couple of times off the track.

After training, you pick a series, a car and away you go to Sweden.

I found that the car I was driving (a Ford) to be twitchy, and it turns on a dime in low speed but a more accurate brick at speed, but my biggest goof was launching too early and coping a time penalty, keep away from the accelerator until it says to go.

By the third or fourth stage, I was starting to beat cars after being way behind at the start, but I was fired at the end of the season after only scoring two points all season, the last rally of the season.

Between rallies you can have a rest or do some training, you can hire staff to help you improve and give points to various fields as well to further improve your standing.

One interesting is that you have to keep your manufacturer happy, if you are bad like I was, you’ll get fired because they lose total faith in you but thankfully there will be a team or three to pick you up when you fall.

Overall, a solid Rally game.

Rating: 4 out of 5.
