The PC Game Gridiron Solitaire really is a Gridiron game based on Solitaire, it is a game of luck as the cards are either on your side or they are against you and that could change a game especially if you’re fourth down, 8 yards from a first down and got no matches and you have to choose the big play and hope luck is on your side.

There’s no shortage of teams to choose from in the game, each has their strengths and weaknesses, personally I go for the weakest team and build them into a championship team.

In offense, you can choose to pass or rush, a pass requires three moves for the ball to go from Quarterback to Wide Receiver and then the WR can take off, it also takes a few moves for the rusher to get a first down.

If no moves can be made, you press ‘Big Play’ to get a fresh card, after a few attempts the computer will make a big play for you, either it succeeds and you get a new card, the play is over or there is an inception or fumble.

For defence, you choose whether you think they will pass or rush the ball, sometimes you will immediately stop them at the line of scrimmage or push them back.

With every match you make, you get closer to the opposition quarterback or the rusher, get enough and you’ll crunch them for a loss, if stuck, use big play to get a new card but be aware, you don’t have an endless supply of them, you only get a set number for each half, and you get a card for each touchdown you get.

Here’s a tip, if the opposition are on third down and are getting nowhere near first down in that play, it may be wise to end the play chances are they will punt on fourth down unless they are close to a touchdown or is near the end of the half or game.

I get a lot of enjoyment from this game; anything can happen in it and that is what makes it fun.
